Error:
“The connection cannot be established. The agent installed on the machine must be removed. After removing the agent, try again to establish a connection.”
Why This Error Appears:
This issue usually occurs when you try to connect to a computer where the Dameware Agent is already installed, often an outdated or corrupted version.
Fortunately, the fix is simple. You need to uninstall the existing agent from the remote machine and then attempt the connection again. During the new connection attempt, Dameware will automatically install a fresh version of the agent.
How to Fix the Dameware Agent Error
Follow the steps below to remove the existing Dameware mini remote control agent and resolve the connection error.
Step 1: Open the File Menu
Go to the File menu in the top panel.

Step 2: Select “Remove Service”
Click Remove Service from the dropdown menu.
Step 3: Enter the Computer Name
Type the name of the remote PC that shows the error and click OK.

Step 4: Wait for the Agent to Be Removed
Wait until Dameware removes the existing agent.

Step 5: Try Connecting Again
Attempt to reconnect. A new agent will be installed automatically.
This method resolves the issue in most cases where an outdated agent prevents connection.
